This is a training grade. An Assistant Statistical Officer/Assistant Field Superintendent, under the supervision of senior staff, will be required to undertake the duty of carrying out the execution and direction of statistical enquiries in all Fields including responsibility for collection, analyzing, and compiling all the materials relating to a particular enquiry.

By direct appointment of a candidate possessing any of the following qualifications: -
Stage I Certificate of the Institute of Statisticians, London.
General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) in two subjects passed in one sitting or three subjects in two sittings preferably including Mathematics.
Ordinary National Diploma in Statistics obtained from an accredited Institution.

PLANNING OFFICER CADRE |
Planning Officer Grade II

|
Under supervision of a superior officer, the planning Officer Grade II is expected to perform the following duties:-
1. Carrying out routine economic analysis.
2. Collecting and collating data required for economic analysis.

By direct appointment of a candidate possessing any of the following qualifications:-
1. A degree in economics preferably with Statistia Econometrics or Development Planning as a subject from recognised University.
2. A degree plus Post-Graduate Diploma in Economic Planning or Economic Development or Project Preparation from recognised University.

Statistician Grade II

|
Performing under supervision the following functions: -
Directing and supervising the work of Statistical Assistants, Superintendents and Enumerators.
Undertaking research in Statistical Methodology.
Planning and directing Statistical investigations and inquiries.
Collecting, processing, analyzing and presenting Statistical data in the administrative, social, economic and agricultural areas of economy.

Prospective candidates must possess any of the following qualifications:-
A degree in Statistics as a special subject from a recognized University.
A degree from a recognized University in Social Science or Mathematics without Statistics plus a Post-graduate Diploma in Statistics.
